Get: A brand spanking new exercise outfit

So, I just got a little email from Shop Style in my inbox titled ‘Get fit in Style’ and it got me thinking about my new exercise outfit from Lorna Jane (an Australia exercise shop for all you international folks out there) and how much I LOVE IT.
I have been used to running, yoga-ing and boot camping in my old exercise wear ‘circa 2009′. Yes, these are things that I have been wearing usually about three times a week for over three years. Yuck. The threads are starting to pull and I’m afraid that every time I do a lunge they just won’t hold. So for my birthday my lovely, little (but wiser) sister took me on a shopping trip to Lorna Jane.
At first I gasped at the cost. How can I spend this much on gym clothes I said? But the beautiful, tall, very toned shop assistant convinced me otherwise handing me a size small (they know how to sell to us girls – I’m never, ever a small!!!) and said that it would change my life. The fact that it was a small was enough to make me buy it!!
I was still sceptical. So, the very next training session I gave them a go. And what happened then was pretty incredible. No, I didn’t do a hundred more sit ups, lift 10 times the amount that I usually did, or run further than ever before, but I just felt happy in my gym gear. And you know what, it wasn’t just the look, it was the way that it fitted on me while I sweated away.

Maybe, the beautiful, tall, very toned sales assistant was right, perhaps a new exercise outfit could change my life, or at least my perception of exercise.
So, if exercising is your aim after the Christmas period of fun and festivities, then get yourself out of those old trackies RIGHT NOW! and into something fresh, colourful and new!
Here are some of my faves from the Shop Style edit – as you can tell I love Stella’s stuff (and it’s on SALE). One of my favourite four letter words.

This is so timely, I’m desperate for new exercise gear. Love the running pants you’re wearing – are they ok on longer distances do you think? Another good site for shoes is eastbay.com – super cheap and the postage rates to Australia aren’t bad either…
I’m feeling inspired now, thanks Eva! Off to Lorna Jane and then the gym!
Hi Bea! I would say that the running pants are probably not perfect for long distances as they just don’t have the pocket space for any gels or bars that you would need to carry. I wear them mainly for my fitness classes and short 5km runs. You are doing a marathon soon aren’t you? Which one are you doing?
Oh, thanks for the tip – I’m needing new shoes (the ones in the pic are nearly a year old now). I got fitted for shoes so I know exactly which shoes are perfect for me. And Eastbay.com have them in a groovy new colour – silver, pink and fluro yellow. YES! And they are on Sale!!! Double Yes. x
