The Happiness Challenge #43: A letter to your future self

February 18, 2013 in Challenge, Inspiration, The Happiness Challenge

This week’s challenge: Write a letter to yourself in the future. Then hide it. Maybe in the pocket of a coat you never, ever wear.

This was so much fun. I changed the challenge around a tiny bit because after I left some letters for myself in some hard to find places, I wanted to do it for other people too. I was writing my little notes on brightly coloured cards, thinking about when it would be when they found it, how it would bring a smile to their face and at what point they would call and tell me all about it.

The hardest bit for me is going to be the waiting. I’m almost so excited by it that I want to tell everyone where I have hidden their little cards but then I guess that would ruin the surprise.

For the notes I wrote for myself, they included little things to remember, like not sweating the small stuff, to give my boyfriend a kiss (especially when I’m rushing out the door) and to smile, laugh and have more fun. I’m a bit of a stress bunny you see, and I need constant reminders to just stop worrying about stuff that doesn’t really matter. The little things will sort themselves out. I’m sure I’ll appreciate the reminder once I find the note again, some time in the future.

Until then, everyone look for my notes! You never know where you might find one.

Next week’s challenge: Leave the house wearing just fabulous lingerie underneath a coat. With heels. (Note: if you are a man you may get accused of being a flasher if you do this. The world is cruel sometimes.)
